Phones and internet, looked after by the same team as your IT
When the phones drop or the internet slows down, you shouldn't have to work out whether it's the line, the router, the phone system or the PC, then ring three suppliers who blame each other. We supply and support all of it, so there's one number to call.
- Keep your existing numbers
- Desk phones and mobile apps
- Backup internet connections
The phone line switch-off
The UK's old copper phone network is being switched off, with the national deadline set for January 2027. Traditional phone lines, and anything plugged into them, need to move to internet-based calling before then. That includes alarms, lift phones, card machines and franking machines, not just the phones on desks.
If you're not sure what's still on a traditional line, we'll find out and plan the move with you.
Hosted phone systems
A hosted phone system lives in the cloud rather than in a box on your wall. Calls come in over your internet connection and reach staff wherever they are.
Desk phones
Yealink handsets that we configure remotely before they arrive. Plug them in and they work, with your extensions, voicemail and call groups already set up.
Phone apps
Your business number on your mobile and computer, on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. Staff set it up by scanning a QR code, with no settings to type in.
The features you'd expect
Call groups, opening-hours routing, out-of-hours messages, voicemail to email, transfers and hunt groups. Changed by us when you need them changed.
Sized for you
From a single line for a one-person business to a full system for a multi-site team. Larger systems run on our own hosted platform.
Business internet
Everything now depends on the connection: phones, Microsoft 365, card payments, cloud software. We supply business-grade connectivity and design it so one fault doesn't stop the business.
Business broadband
Fibre broadband for small offices and sites, on business terms rather than a home package with a business label.
Leased lines
A dedicated connection with guaranteed speeds in both directions, for businesses where the internet simply can't be slow or down.
Backup connections
A second line from a different provider, with the firewall switching over automatically if the main line fails. It's how we run our own office.
Wi-Fi that reaches
Properly planned business Wi-Fi with separate, isolated networks for guests and devices, so a visitor's phone never sits on the same network as your PCs.
Questions
Can we keep our phone numbers?
Yes. Existing numbers can be moved to a hosted phone system, a process called porting. We handle it and schedule the switch so you don't miss calls.
Will call quality be as good as a normal phone line?
On a decent connection, yes, and often better. We check your connection first and set up the firewall to prioritise calls, which is where most VoIP quality problems come from.
What happens to our phones if the internet goes down?
Calls can be diverted automatically to mobiles or the phone app, so customers still get through. A backup internet connection keeps the office running too.
Do we need new phones?
Not necessarily. Some staff are happy with the app on their mobile or computer. Where desk phones make sense, we supply Yealink handsets ready configured.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the number of users, lines and sites, and on the connection you need. We quote after a short look at what you have now, which often turns up savings on old contracts.
