CCTV and Access Control

CCTV and door access, installed by your IT team

Cameras and door entry are network devices now, and a badly set up camera is one of the easiest ways into a business network. We install, secure and support CCTV and access control as part of your IT, so it's done properly and there's one team to call.

  • Installed by our own engineers
  • Paxton access control

CCTV

Modern IP cameras give clear images day and night, and you can check them from your phone. We plan coverage around what you actually need to see, not how many cameras we can fit.

Site survey and design

We walk the site with you, work out what each camera needs to see and why, and give you a fixed quote before anything is fitted.

Clear recording

Cameras chosen for the job: wide views for car parks and yards, detail at entrances and tills, good low-light performance where it's needed.

Secure remote viewing

Watch live or play back footage on your phone or computer, without opening holes in your firewall that criminals scan the internet for.

Kept up to date

Camera and recorder firmware is updated like any other device on your network, because an out-of-date camera is a security risk.

"I arranged a visit to my small business for some CCTV to be fitted. The fitters were great, arrived on time and guaranteed and warrantied the work. Very pleased, thanks James and the team."

Door access control

A shared door code is only secure until the first person leaves. Proper access control gives everyone their own credential, and lets you take it away in seconds.

Fobs, cards or phones

Each person gets their own way in. Nobody shares a code, so nobody can pass it on.

Instant removal

When someone leaves, their access goes on their last day, without changing anything for anyone else.

A full audit trail

A record of which door opened, for whom and when. Useful for safeguarding, insurance and settling questions quickly.

Time rules

Cleaners in the evenings, morning staff in the mornings. Access follows the hours people actually work.

We install Paxton, a UK manufacturer, for its reliability and long-term support. With Paxton10, doors can be managed from the cloud, so access can be added or removed from anywhere.

Why your IT company should fit it

CCTV and door systems sit on your network, use your internet connection and are reached from your staff's phones. Fitted by someone who doesn't look after the network, they often end up with default passwords, exposed to the internet, or sharing a network with your PCs.

  • Cameras and door controllers kept on their own network, separate from your computers
  • Remote access set up securely, not by opening ports on your router
  • Default passwords changed and access recorded in your IT documentation
  • Leavers removed from doors and cameras at the same time as their email
  • One team to call when a camera goes offline, whatever the cause

For nurseries

We've worked with early years settings since 2009, and nurseries have particular needs. Door access is a safeguarding control, not just a security one: inspectors expect you to control who can get into the building and to be able to show it. A push-button lock or a code that every parent has seen doesn't do that.

Cameras in a nursery need careful thought about where they point, who can view footage and how long it's kept, and parents will ask. We'll help you set it up in a way you can explain and defend.

For more detail, read our guide to access control for nurseries.

CCTV and data protection

Business CCTV footage of people is personal data under UK GDPR. In practice that means clear signs saying recording is in place and who's responsible, a defined reason for recording, footage kept only as long as needed, and the ability to respond if someone asks for footage of themselves. We'll set the system up so the practical side of that is easy, and point you to the ICO's guidance for the rest.

Questions

Do you install CCTV yourselves?

Yes. Our own engineers survey, install and support every system, across South Wales.

Can I view the cameras on my phone?

Yes. Live view and playback work on phones and computers, set up securely so your cameras aren't exposed to the internet.

Can you take over a system someone else installed?

Often, yes. We'll check what's there, secure it and tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. Installations are guaranteed, and equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty.

Do we need to be an IT customer?

CCTV and access control work best alongside our managed IT support, because they live on the same network. Talk to us about your site and we'll tell you what makes sense.

How much does CCTV cost?

It depends on the number of cameras and doors, the cabling and the site. After a survey you get a fixed quote, with no extras once the work starts.

Local, and on site when it matters

We're based in Mumbles and come on site across South Wales, from Carmarthen and Llanelli to Neath, Port Talbot and Bridgend. See IT support in Swansea or all the areas we cover.

See what's covered, and what isn't

We'll survey your site, show you the blind spots and give you a fixed quote for cameras, doors or both.
